My inspiration for the slabs came from this years election. This year so many more people are paying attention to politics and i wanted to make something to celebrate that.
I didn't really have any inspiration for these cups i just made what I felt looked cool. It was my first time in ceramics in a while and I was just getting used to the wheel. I used the wheel for all of my cups and even tried to square one. I look forward to using the wheel in the future, the symmetry and uniformity you get from the wheel when used correctly is great,
The speckled pot on the left is amazing. Its design is very simple but it catches the eye and is interesting. One of my favorite things to do is swirl glaze like it is on the bowl on the right. it reminds me of an ocean or a sky full of swirly clouds.
The lidded vessel on the left was very interesting because of its form and almost sharp lines. It intrigued me and I would like to learn how the artist did it. The vessel on the right is my favorite. Its simplicity and almost childish look caught my eye. I like to make my works look lumpy and old this captures my style perfectly. |
